Ray can't post here because he "hates baseball."

ZOMFGREDSOXKILLTHEYANKEES!!!111oneone

Anyhow, I like the Sox' chances. Pitching tends to win series, and the Boston starters and bullpen are looking better than their NYC counterparts (with the exception of Rivera -- who might not play).

That's all for now. I might write something long and actually interesting to non-fans in a few days.

Stay tuned, children. Oh, and if you're a baseball person, post about baseball.

d00d.... u r teh suxx0rz!

can you tell i'm a NY fan?

mind, I hate, loathe, despise, revile, etc. the yankees on a regular basis (long islanders are Mets fans), but once a year, i support that second rate piece of crap we call the yankees becuase well, they're way better than the Mets.

There is no curse - it's just gross mismanagement over all these years :)

Last night's game was pretty exciting - and I'm a Braves fan. I don't know if I can handle 6 more of these, and I do believe it will be decided in the 7th game yet again.

I just had a conversation of this sort with someone from Queens... to keep it civil, I would simply suggest that you root AGAINST the Yankees, if you're a true Mets fan.

Anyhow, oof... this might be the last night for my guys... and quite possibly the last night I watch baseball this season, depending on how hard I take it. We'll see. Anyhow, Derek Lowe is getting one last chance to maybe keep his job, although to be frank that's unlikely even if he pulls out a win tonight. What really strikes me is the fact that there's no real goat this series. If the hitting's there, the pitching isn't, and vice-versa.

Alice, what's your take on NL? Think the 'Stros can scrape together some more wins? Will Oswalt figure it out tonight?

Amazing. Stayin' alive...

If they win the Series, I'm converting to Islam.

My thoughts on the NL?

I think that the overall talent that comprises the Cardinal hitting lineup will prevail in the end. Too bad Houston isn't capable of pitching Clemens every night.

Another reason why I'm routing for the Cardinals - I really don't want to have to deal with the multitude of stories surrounding Clemens pitching against either the Yankees or the Red Sox (though I'm afraid to tell you that I feel that the Yankees are going to prevail against the Red Sox in the end.).

My bold-ish World Series predictions:

- The Red Sox will win in 5 games.
- The Red Sox will score more than 5 runs in each game they win.
- Curt Schilling will strike out 5 batters.
- David Ortiz will hit 5 home runs during the Series.
- The Cardinals will make 5 errors during the Series.

No predictions from me this time, but I'm looking forward to watching a great World Series this year. I'm going over to a friend's house (big Yankee fan) which I'm certain to be hearing lats of cheers for the Red Birds.

This looks like a world series thread so i figure why not start it back up for the new season. Well here goes. My start of the season prediction is the Nationals and the Damn Yankees in the World Series. I mean how could you not like the Nationals. They won their first Spring training game which is an obvious accomplishment.
