OTORI

Formed from the ashes of SDF by ashamalee, August 24, 2004. SDF’s only other known notable member was a young hAvAAck(see Warehouse23). After SDF fell apart due to bad leadership, Ashamalee joined the clan Unholy Slayers and quickly became a co-leader; after consulation with real-life friends segafreak1999 (#75663) and Leon_Necredor (#187524), he split off to form Otori, taking many members of Unholy Slayers with him. Otori’s name is taken from a series of novels by Liam Hearn set in feudal Japan. In recent months, Otori has become a sort of semi-elite clan of about 80 members, well respected for its citizenship and dedication to active KOL playing. For instance, members must submit an “application” of sorts, there are minimum level requirements (which have gradually been scaled up from 10 to the current 15), and clan promotions are based on in-game activity rather than meat/item donations. Otori also maintains a strict policy against inactivity. Aside from its serious members, Otori also houses a number of famous multis – a blatant Jimbowong multi, Arr Saying Pirate, and the English Language multis. Otori is a major clan warfare participant; they have held the 4^th-most-wins spot virtually since the leaderboard was created.

Major members:

-ashamalee (#89522) – A well-known power gamer and /trade channel frequenter, ashamalee’s store is perhaps more famous than his clan. Soon after Black Sunday, ashamalee was rolling in Meat, and since then he has funneled close to four billion Meat into a massive collection drive. He has collected tens of thousands of certain items, including each shore-dropped item, all of which he keeps on display in the mall.

-Nyarlathotep (#46570) –Highest-ranking clan member until Spcae Maggot’s arrival. Nyarlathotep was an early leader on the Fernswarthy’s Basement boards, before the Mysticality bug was fixed.

-Resiliang (#183270) – Resiliang came to Otori from Unholy Slayers; he was once a major clan-active participant, a leading clan recruiter and a “right hand man” to Ashamalee. Resiliang is also responsible for the series of English Language multis (The English Language, Ghost of the English Language, Killer Of The English Language, and Eater of the English Language) that paraded in Newbie in the Fall of 2004, lamenting the lack of good grammar in chat. Resiliang is currently in semi-retirement.

-Moless (#44565) – high-ranking clan member; Villa member. Moless was the first recruit to the clan beyond its founders.

-StolenSoul8 (#174150) –Early Villa member.

-Arr Saying Pirate (#221028) – Created by Cooker_Man (#156020) in honor of Talk Like A Pirate Day, 9/19/04. This character went from a /newbie channel gag to a Mr. Accessory and Hypnodisk hawker, once the day was over and the joke had worn out. As a result, he has contributed hundreds of millions of Meat to the Otori coffers.

-Spcae Maggot (#21277) – joined Nov ’04; highest ranking clan member. Former member of ArsClan. Spcae Maggot is a noted non-exploit powergamer.

-Kyle75 (#94447) - Kyle75 joined Otori following SDF’s collapse, and was a dedicated member during the clan’s formative stages. Unfortunately, his account was hacked in early October, and he has been unable to log in ever since.

-PumpkinEve (#211236) - Responsible for many new members; well-known chat and forum poster.
