W00T ANGELS

The history of w00t Angels is still primarily a tangled web, remembered fuzzily by its former members, driven into the shadows by the absence of its old leaders. The fragments compiled here are the evidence that remains of a once respected and powerful clan, and serve not only as a testament to the clan itself, but also as a sober reminder of how difficult it is to reconstruct a dead clan’s life.

The clan is believed to have been founded early in 2004, by one of the Osires, Tinvip, and mocha. While w00t initially envisioned the clan as a peaceful endeavor, they quickly grew into major clan warfare leaders for their time. Jet_The_Prince, the Angels’ main hawk, recalls repeated clashes with Alliance From Hell and [AzN]. They were, by several accounts, recognized as honorable warriors. Black_Death_1 claims, “they never attacked a clan that didn’t attack first.” Prospective members were required to submit an application, in which they had to list their stats, give references, and explain why they wished to be admitted. W00t and the other leaders were noted for giving sprees of buffs, meat, and items among their clanmates.

Some time in the summer of 2004, w00t_osirisFX went inactive, and in his absence, the clan quickly corroded. Jet_the_Prince left soon after, and while Tinvip held onto the reins as members slowly trickled away, he, too, became inactive. Some rearrangement, or confusion, of clan ranks did nothing to help the matter. Though w00t Angels was firmly lodged on the clan leaderboards for a long time, propped up almost solely by Tinvip’s then-impressive stats, they eventually dropped completely from view, and are today only a wisp of memory among those members still active.

Major members:

-osiris (#682)/OsirisFX (#2632)/w00t_osirisFX (#5807) – In absence of evidence to the contrary, it is believed that all these accounts are the same person. Osiris was an early member of the Cool Guy Crew (that’s early, as in June 2003 or before), as well as 1337 sn4x0rs. He was one of the players whose stats were nerfed after the clan stat bug epidemic; however, he protested the punishment, claiming he had never cheated. W00t_osirisFX’s account is still listed as a 1337 sn4x0r, although it is inactive.

-jet_the_prince (#11337) – Jet was singled out as a clan stash raider in his early days, and admits to some indiscretions, but as a member of w00t Angels, he came into his own as a respected player and forum poster. Jet had control of the clan stash in its later months, and also managed the Angels’ clan warfare. He left in late July 2004 as the clan was falling apart, and joined Outworld, a short-lived power clan run by Virgo (see Warclan).
